JBF Celebrated World Animal Day in New Delhi:

JBF celebrated World Animal Day with two different activities. JBF (INDIA), the animal welfare wing of JBF that runs Mobile Cattle Clinic in New Delhi & Mobile Animal Clinic at Guwahati  celebrated the occasion along with JBF Welfare Organization that runs Informal schools for the children from Slum & Street.

A painting competition on animals was organized at the JBF Informal School, Viklang Basti, Near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi premises among the children from the Viklang Basti and about 50 children participated in the competition. The paintings were of different animals ranging from Elephant to Mongoose. Some of the paintings were so creative and artistic that it was beyond imagination and it really proves that if we put them into action as the saying goes that only the action of just can blossom in the dust, they will really blossom. Prizes for the Best three will be awarded in the next celebration at the school and JBF decided to put some extra initiative for the exceptionally talented children.

Then the another event: After completion of the painting competition, JBF team lead by Dr. Sashanka, Managing Trustee of JBF (INDIA) with 30 volunteered children started a procession from the school. There were banners, Placards, Mask of animals on the face and also a Dhol ( a double-sided barrel drum) to attract people. The placards were with the slogans like Start Working for Animal Welfare, Stop Cruelty to animals, Be Kind to Animals, Provide Food, Water to animals in need etc etc. Mask of different animals like Dog, tiger, wolf etc were worn by the children.  The Dhol made the procession more lively and the passer by was enjoying the procession and reading the placards. Many people asked questions about the World Animal Day and JBF team made them understand. The procession that started at School went through a busy market to the Gate of India Habitat Centre at Lodhi Road and then on the way to the Sai Temple, one of the famous temples in the South Delhi and then back to the School near Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. As it was Thursday the gathering at Sai temple was huge and JBF feels that it helped to pass the message about the animal welfare to a large group of people from different field. Leaflets were distributed to people during the procession that will help them to be in touch with JBF whenever they see a suffering animal. After completion of a nearly two hours procession the children were provided some snacks & a small gift. The children were too enthusiastic and happy to be a part of the procession and JBF as a whole are quite positive that the procession will create awareness among the people & help the animals for their better life.
