From 6 April 2000, under the Governments revised Gift Aid Scheme, charities can reclaim the basic rate of tax already paid on all donations made by individuals. This will mean any donation you make after this date will be worth almost a third more. For example a gift of £50 will be worth £64.

• For JBF(Scotland) to be able to make a claim for Gift Aid, you must be a UK taxpayer who has already paid or will be paying the sum of Income Tax which is equal to or exceeding the total amount that JBF(Scotland) claims in the relevant tax year.  (Currently 28p for every £1-00 that you donated)
• If in the future your circumstances change and you no longer pay tax on your income and capital gains equal to the tax that JBF (Scotland) reclaims from your donation (s) in that year, you can cancel the declaration by contacting us.
• You can cancel this declaration at any time simply by contacting JBF (Scotland). You do not need to write to us, a telephone call is sufficient.
• If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self Assessment tax return.
• If you are unsure whether your donations qualify for Gift Aid tax relief, please contact us or ask you local tax office for leaflet IR 65.
• Please notify JBF (Scotland) if you change your name or address.
